I mean, really.

I was having fish for dinner, and then I thought I had fish bone stuck in my throat, but then I didn’t feel it anymore, so I thought I was imagining things.

Then I went to watch TV and as I was lying down on my side, I felt a sharp pain in my throat. I sat up straight again, and the pain went away, but there was still an uncomfortable feeling in my throat.

Since I’m such the procrastinator and the lazy ass, I decided to ignore it, and sat as straight as I could for the next hour or so. Then I stood up to get a glass of water, and felt the sharp pain in my neck again, and the pain came back each time I made a sudden movement with my neck.

I decided to visit the doctor.

On the way to the doctor’s, I felt the pain while swallowing an especially copious amount of saliva. I was practically gagging the rest of the way there.

The doctor couldn’t find the bone, despite poking lots of random stuff down my throat. By the end of the ordeal, my jaws were aching, and my tonsils were sore and red (I believe I saw blood on the large tweezers he put down my neck).

“I tried my best,” said the doctor.

Very ominous. I can’t feel the pain normally anyway, and I certainly do not want to jerking my neck this way and that to feel the pain. In any case, I can’t jerk my neck voluntarily.

So according to the doctor, he has given my throat a good sweep with his long tweezers and since he can’t find the bone, there are two possibilities:

1. It has dislodged itself and tumbled its way into my stomach, which is good, because then I can either shit it out or let my extra strong stomach enzymes take care of it.

2. It has gotten lodged deeper in, and an inflammation might occur, causing the neck to be swollen.

In any case, he has written me a referral letter to the A&E department of Changi Hospital, explaining my situation (?) or something. I only hope it’s just a precautionary measure.

I’m starting to feel something uncomfortable in my throat again, so that kind of sucks. I can’t stop thinking about the stupid fish bone! ARRRGGGGH.

From now on, the only fish I’ll eat is sashimi, sliced and deboned expertly by a trained chef. Garh.

I’d been looking forward to receiving a parcel all weekend, and finally my dad collected it for me from the post office.

I had been expecting something really sweet and useful – like a nice bag, or shampoo, or conditioner, because I had been lamenting all week to Baldy about how I really NEED those stuff.

The last thing on my mind was certainly BOOKS, because I didn’t mention wanting any, and Baldy certainly doesn’t know enough of the Japanese language to be picking out suitable books for me to read.

Unfortunately, however, Baldy knows enough about Japanese food to know what he wants to eat.

I don’t know why my sister absolutely cannot go to the dentist herself. It isn’t even like she’s frightened of the dentist or anything, she’s just plain spoilt and bratty. My mum took leave just to accompany her to the dentist, but because there’s a food fair and Guardian pharmacy sale at the Expo, I told my mum I’ll take my sister to the dentist instead, and she can hit the sales before the evening crowd starts to form.

It turned out to be a long boring wait, as all dentist waiting rooms are. Luckily I brought my notebook and a pencil along so I drew a rather bored looking picture of a very nice elder sister waiting her littlest sister to be done with the dentist.
